The “Second International Bottle-Grade PET Closed-loop Recycling Summit” was held in Shanghai on February 15-16, 2023, which intended

to build a based on the first session to create a high-quality industry platform that is more professional and adapts to current needs. Promote horizontal and vertical cooperation among the entire industry chain of bottle-grade PET. Not only that, this submission will truly implement closed-loop and low-carbon practices. As the co-organizer of the summit, Transit Low Carbon will fully calculate the carbon emissions of the agreement. In addition:

● The summit will maintain the fine tradition, minimize the use of materials, and not print the conference brochure;

● Collect and regenerate all beverage bottles produced by the summit;

● Badges that are difficult to recycle will be made from recycled paper and will also be recycled afterward;

● Simplify booth design and use green materials;

● Comprehensively calculate carbon emissions and create a green summit.

In February 2022, the first International Bottle-Grade PET Closed-loop Recycling Summit was successfully held in Shanghai. This is the first time that the upstream and downstream stakeholders of bottle-grade PET have conducted a comprehensive discussion on the topic of closed-loop recycling, which is an important milestone.

Compared with 2021, in 2022, the total amount of PET used in the domestic beverage, edible oil, daily chemical products and other markets will continue to grow, and the total export volume of bottle-grade PET will show rapid growth. The strong demand will lead to the continued expansion of the total domestic bottle-grade PET output. ; However, high-end recycled PET for packaging applications is still only used in a small amount for daily chemical and personal care products, and part of it is exported to foreign countries through sheet and blister products. , BOPET has also begun to adopt recycled content, but the total demand is not large; the three largest beverage companies in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region: Swire Cola, Watsons and Vitasoy have already started to use food-grade rPET particles. China opens rPET food contact applications, and its market will start from zero in 2022.

The development of the global plastic circular economy has put forward new requirements for PET bottle design. Master Kong, PepsiCo and domestic brands: Yanshui have successively launched label-free bottles in China; technologies such as ink removal, RPETG, and washing labels have been applied or have begun to be tested. In addition, the domestic regulatory environment is slowly changing. Can the current production capacity of the industry meet future demand? Semi-chemical methods and chemical recycling have applications and production facilities in my country. What role will they play in future closed-loop recycling, etc., It is unknown.
